Mommy Daughter Date Night - It's the Little Things

It's very rare that I get a chance to have one on one time with my kiddos but tonight, I had the opportunity to take the littlest out to dinner while the boys were at practice.  We went to Chick Fil A and I made sure I was intentional about putting my phone away and really talking with her.  What I learned was wonderful!

I asked her several questions about her day. One of those was about recess.  She then preceded to tell me that she spent the majority of her recess today taking care of a friend that wasn't feeling well.  She told me how she felt warm and her belly hurt and how she helped her friend to the nurse.  I told her how sweet it was that she spent her recess taking care of a friend to which she then replied, "Mom, I like taking care of my friends!"

That little sentence right there melted my heart!

It was a way that her 5 year old self could serve others.

It was how she showed love and compassion.

It was how she sacrificed something she enjoyed to help someone else.

It shows me that what we are doing and how we are living does make a difference even in the littlest of things!

It was nothing major but something little that showed me something BIG....God's love in my child!

It's the little things that mean so much. Make sure you stop and take notice of those little things!
