TEXAS

We are going on week #5 with part of our family in Texas and things are good, not ideal but it feels good.

Let me start by saying, I miss my friends and family back in MD like crazy! But we are so thankful for technology and FaceTime because it has definitely helped ease the distance a little.
just a few of the people we are missing!
And we can't wait to be completely reunited as a family.

Things were a little rocky when we first arrived, we lost my grandmother 2 days after the kids and I got here.  We knew it was coming but it doesn't make it any easier.  The positive is that the funeral was here in Texas so we were able to be reunited with some of the MD family a week later.  My grandmother's service was beautiful!  My dad did a great job on the slide show and it really helped the kids focus on being thankful for the last 5 years that they had to spend with her in MD.  My brother did an awesome job sharing who Christ is to our family and how loved my grandmother is.
Everything has not been completely smooth sailing but I can truly see the hand of God throughout this entire move.  I can truly say I am happy to be back in Texas.  The kids are doing well, loving school, making friends, and playing sports.  I have really loved watching them step out of their comfort zone and make new friends. It has really encouraged me to do the same, a little slower of course.

We have completely disrupted my aunt and uncle's lives for the time being but I think we would all say it hasn't been that bad.  I am incredibly thankful to have them around.  It has definitely made our transition a little easier.  I have truly enjoyed spending time with my aunt and getting to know her a little better now that I am an adult(I still sometimes question that?).  I feel incredibly blessed that my kids are now going to get to spend more time with their other great grandmother and many other family members that live in Texas.  Our family, the completely extended large group of us, has always been incredibly close and I can't wait for my kids and hubby to experience all of it.  I am thankful to be a much shorter distance to drive to our home town, so that we can spend more time with the rest of our family!

Here is a little hand of God story….2 weeks into school, our high school football team was playing at Cowboy stadium so we all went to the game which was awesome and exciting btw.  Anyways, when we got there and were looking for seats, we coincidentally or God guided sat behind 2 families that live in our soon to be neighborhood. Tucker is in class with one of the kids.  Anyways, throughout the game, I was able to visit with both of the mothers who were incredibly kind and wonderful.  They both gave me their phone numbers and I gave them mine.  They both have reached out to me and I am excited to start building relationships.  1 also invited me to a community women's Bible study that she is starting the neighborhood. Pretty cool, huh?

Anyways, I know this post was a little all over the place but I thought I would post a little update.
