Happy Birthday K!!! You are now officially a teenager. It makes me think back to when we first met and you were in first grade. You were the cutest little boy with missing teeth and a head full of white hair. I remember the days when I would pick you up from school and you were so excited to tell me what had happened during the day. You were a little chatterbox. Now, we are lucky we get any explanation other than "Fine." And that's OK because I know the day will come when you will become a chatterbox again.

I am so proud of you and the choices you have made so far in your life. You are a GREAT BIG brother, a strong leader among your friends, a good listener, and you have the biggest heart for your friends and family. You sense when others are hurting and are always there for them. I am so proud of you and I love you. The next few years might get a little rough but I know we will make it through with a strong relationship.

I know that God has a purpose in all the stages of our lives. Because each and every day with my children, I look back on my childhood and fully understand or sympathize with the decisions my parents made. We live and prayerfully, we learn. My prayer for you and for our family is that you continue STRONG in your relationship with God. Allow Him to be the light unto your path. For us as your parents and siblings, that we continue to guide you according to His plans and that along the way, we sit back and remember what it was like to be in your shoes. God's grace is the most amazing thing in our lives and I pray that we can continue to share that with you.
