Strength and Encouragement for Mothers

Why, as mothers, do we question ourselves? It takes just the littlest thing to make us doubt if we are effective in teaching and loving our children to the best of our ability. The little thing could be a comment made in a time of haste. It could be the restlessness of our kids at times or many other things.

Unfortunately lately, I have been questioning my effectiveness as a mother a lot lately. I think it has to do with many things, one being the restlessness of the 2 littlest. But God has known that I need a little encouragement lately. 2 different teachers at church have told me how sweet and mannerly my 2 little boys are. These words have meant so much in a time that I have seemed to doubt.

I guess the point of my ramblings is to encourage all mothers and to remind us to band together. We all have our times of questioning:
Am I doing the right thing for my child?
Why does my child seem to act like ______?
Am I feeding my child the right things?
Are my parenting techniques causing my child to act like this?

Always remember to encourage your other friends who are mothers or in fact complete strangers also. It could be as simple as a word, a little time away, a smile in a time of struggle... because somtimes those small encouragements are all we get until our children grow old enough to truly appreciate what we have done(usually when they have their own kids).

And remember, we do the best that we can and we all fall short sometimes and that is OK, we are human afterall. In these times, it is encouraging to me to remember that their Heavenly Father is watching out for them. Always lift your children up in prayer and remember that we are not responsible for everything. We do have the help of God!

  1. Nice post! And very true :)

I like your munchkins :) And I think you're doing a great job

  2. You're doing a GREAT job!! It's really encouraging to me that Ry is a little older than Christopher. All the things you struggle with now, I get to do in 10 months or so... and you're making it work.

I'm so proud of how much I've seen him grow up over the last couple of years. It gives me hope :)

  3. Your a great mom!!!!! Love, Mom

  4. Wow this is just what I needed to read today. Thanks! Keep up the good work :)
